Condominium towers reach skyward on the Long Beach shoreline facing the ocean -- and new buildings are rising every day.  In the foreground are tents set up near the Rainbow Lagoon for the annual Toyota Long Beach Grand Prix.

Gorgeous high rise condominiums line Ocean Boulevard from downtown Long Beach, California to the edge of Belmont Heights.  The grandmother of them all is the Villa Riviera, an elegant condo tower that looks as if it had been transplanted from the 1930s New York.  Also notable, and right across the street, is the 1960s round International Tower, with its pie-shaped condos.  There are also several other high rises, more contemporary, with beautiful condos available for sale.   Many older buildings in downtown Long Beach have also been converted into loft spaces for sale.

At dawn ships enter the Long Beach harbor -- a view enjoyed daily by many high rise condo owners.

It goes without saying-- but I will say it anyway -- the views from these high rise condos are fabulous whether they face the ocean and Catalina Island on the horizon or look inland toward the city lights of Los Angeles and the distant mountains.  Great amenities, such as fitness centers and pools, are available in most of them.

If you are interested in an alternative to a high rise condo, there are also low-rise condos fronting directly onto the beach.

Beginning at the eastern edge of  downtown, condos face onto the 7 mile long beach that gives the city its name.  Some are high rise towers, and some, like these are just a few stories high.
